Bongo Repatriation Program
On 29 January 2004, at 8:00 p.m., an Air Transport International DC-8 freighter touched down in Nairobi carrying 18 mountain bongo antelope and two tons of antelope feed, consummating RSCF's 10-year campaign to repatriate captive bred bongo from the United States back to Kenya.

The pictures you see above were taken with a Bushnell remote sensing camera system,
or camera "trap", set up near a salt lick within the Aberdares National Park (Honi Valley) in March 2006. The laser-triggered camera captured images of a variety of animal species visiting
the mineral lick including elephant; waterbuck; warthog; buffalo; and significantly, a mountain bongo female and calf. These photos are invaluable in assessing the status of
remnant bongo population within the national park.
