Nature and the Environment
Africa

Biodiversity comes in all shapes, sizes and forms. Even the tiniest insect plays a vital role in sustaining a healthy, balanced environment. Large, charasmatic species like bongo, elephant and tiger may be easily recongnized and appreciated, but nature in all forms has an intrinsic, priceless value that cannot and must not be denied. The role that the human species plays in sustaining and managing natural resources and natural heritage is perhaps our greatest and most challanging responsiblility. In an age of unprecedented human population growth, space for nature is at a premium and the struggle to preserve what remains of nature must not be lost in the wake of an ever-expanding human footprint. Just as we depend on the Earth to sustain us as a species, so must we protect and preserve the many species that in turn sustain a healthy planet.
